CELEBRATION OF LIGHT AND LOVE
We all like things to line up, don’t we?
We spend our lives busily making plans, setting goals, writing to-do lists, and ticking them off one by one with a sense of accomplishment. Towards the end of each year, we like to look at our accomplishments. Did we stick to the goals we set for ourselves? Where did we fall short? What are our intentions for the new year?
Our bodies, especially our nervous system, which controls every function in our body, really likes to be in alignment. We were designed to be in sync. When we pay attention to our bodies and support them with delicious food, fresh air to breathe, restful sleep, and invigorating exercise, they work well. We are then in a place of alignment and we can relax. Relaxation lets us repair and strengthen our immune system, so we can enjoy good health.
This planet we live on has its own celebrations of alignment: in mid-June, we celebrate the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year. Late in December comes the shortest day of the year and a celebration of light returning to the earth. Being aware of nature all around us, noticing the sunrise and moonrise also keeps our bodies in alignment and helps us to relax.
As the days grow longer and we watch the sun peek over the horizon, grateful for its warmth and light, let us pause to marvel at this universe. So many people lose their health because they’re stuck on the hamster wheel, our hope is to bring awareness to others that the choices that they make can either increase their energy or deplete it. As we complete a year and begin a new one, we encourage you to set aside your busy plans and just enjoy a moment of pause and connection to the earth and the cosmos.
